Ever wondered why so many movies are made in states like Michigan, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, Florida etc. It's because of tax incentives and also because SAG allows producers to exclude all SAG Background Actors, so they can hire 100% Non-Union Background Actors at minimum wage with zero benefits. That's right, if you live and want to work as SAG Background in the white areas on the map below - forget it! SAG doesn't cover you there. However, get this, SAG will allow you to work at a Non-Union rate - typically minimum wage with zero benefits! Click here for proof.
