BACKGROUND ACTORS ARE NOT COVERED BY SCREEN ACTORS GUILD THEATRICAL AND TELEVISION CODES IN THE STATES OF WASHINGTON, OREGON, ALASKA, MONTANA OR IDAHO REGARDLESS OF BUDGET.
* While the project itself may be a SAG production, the background actors are not covered by the SAG contracts.
* All wages and benefits are negotiable, subject to state law.
* SAG has no basis upon which to pursue claims for background actors under these agreements.
* Even if the project is a SAG production, background work will not result in a SAG voucher leading to SAG membership eligibility.
* This is true, regardless of the budget of the project.
* Because the SAG Codes do not cover background actors and SAG is not, therefore, attempting to organize these jobs, it is not a violation of Rule 18 for a SAG member to accept a job as a background performer in a SAG theatrical or television project in these Northwest states."
